Terms & Conditions – Lover of the Light Ceremonies

These Terms & Conditions outline the agreement between Lover of the Light Ceremonies (Christie Barrett) and the couple (“the Clients”) booking celebrant services and/or celebrant-led ceremony, DIY venue dressing, On-The-Day Coordination and photography services or any services for their wedding/event. By securing a booking, the Clients agree to the following terms:
1. Booking & Payment
1.1. A £200 non-refundable booking fee is required to secure your wedding/event date. The date is not confirmed until the booking fee has been received.
1.2. The remaining balance must be paid in full no later than 60 days before the wedding date.
1.3. Payments should be made via bank transfer (will be sent in the terms and conditions)
1.4. Failure to pay the balance by the due date may result in cancellation of services and a cancellation fee of £200.
2. Services Provided
2.1. Celebrant-Led Wedding Ceremony – from £400
Lover of the Light Ceremonies will provide a fully personalised or standard script, non-legally binding wedding ceremony.
The planning process includes:
Initial consultation and ceremony discussions (starting 16 weeks before the wedding)
Three scheduled check-ins (at 12, 10, and 4 weeks before the wedding)
A WhatsApp group for ongoing communication
An optional rehearsal (1 week before the wedding/event) if requested
Bespoke ceremony script created in collaboration with the Clients
2.2. Venue Dressing Package – £400
This service includes the full set-up of decor and styling materials provided by the Client on the day of the wedding, styled and placed according to the Client’s plans and
layout.
What’s included:
Set-up of all Client-provided decorations
Pre-wedding communication via WhatsApp
Review of plans and placement instructions
Styling and placement according to your vision
What the Client must provide:
All materials and decorations, including batteries and materials to hang or attach (not supplied or transported by Lover of The Light Ceremonies)
Delivery arranged by the client and directly with the venue
A full inventory, written instructions, layout guides/photos, and placement locations
Important notes:
Does not include pack-down or clean-up – this can be added for £200 per service
Final layout and decor instructions must be submitted 14 days before the event
We do not work at height (above 1 m from ground level)
3 hours of decoration are included as standard, and any further hours will be billed at £100 p/h (this will be agreed upon in advance).
Lover of the Light Ceremonies is not liable for delays or issues caused by third-party suppliers, missing/damaged items, or incomplete instructions
2.3. On-the-Day Coordination Package – £400
This package is perfect for couples who have planned their wedding and need a reliable professional to oversee the smooth running of the day.
What’s included:
Up to 5 hours of coordination on the day
Timeline and schedule management
Supplier liaison
Venue set-up oversight
Troubleshooting any issues that arise
WhatsApp group for communication
Pre-wedding chat and planning support
Important notes:
Final timeline, contact details, and supplier list must be provided at least 14 days in advance
Does not include decor pack-down or clean-up unless booked separately
Lover of the Light Ceremonies is not responsible for third-party delays or delivery failures
2.4. Combined Package – Venue Dressing & On-the-Day Coordination – £700
This combined package includes both services listed above, ideal for couples who want support with decor set-up and a trusted coordinator on the day.
What’s included:
Full venue dressing with Client-provided decor
Full-day on-the-day coordination (up to 8 hours)
Management of set-up, timeline, and supplier coordination
WhatsApp group for communication
Pre-wedding planning call
What the Client must provide:
All decor and styling items (delivery arranged with the venue)
Final decor instructions and layout (inventory, diagrams, photos)
Timeline, supplier contacts, and event schedule at least 14 days before the wedding
Additional options:
Decor removal: £200
Clean-up/tidy away: £200
Lover of the Light Ceremonies is not responsible for any issues arising from missing/damaged items, supplier delays, or venue restrictions.
3. Client Responsibilities
3.1. The Clients must ensure that all necessary legal formalities for their marriage are completed separately with the relevant authorities. The celebrant-led ceremony is
symbolic and non-legally binding.
3.2. The Clients must provide accurate details about the wedding date, time, venue location, and contact numbers at the time of booking.
3.3. If a rehearsal is requested (online or in person depending on venue location), the Clients must ensure all key participants are available at the agreed time and location.
4. Changes & Cancellations
4.1. Changes to the ceremony date or time must be communicated as soon as possible. Lover of the Light Ceremonies will do its best to accommodate changes but cannot guarantee availability.
4.2. Client Cancellations:
The £200 booking fee is non-refundable.
If the service booked by the client is cancelled less than 60 days before the wedding, no refund will be issued and a cancellation fee of £200 will be payable.
If cancelled more than 60 days before the wedding, payments beyond the booking fee will be refunded. A £200 cancellation charge will be payable by the Client.
4.3. Celebrant Cancellations:
In the unlikely event that Lover Of The Light Ceremonies is unable to provide the services booked due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g., illness, emergency), every effort
will be made to find a suitable replacement.
If no replacement can be arranged, a full refund (including the deposit) will be issued.
5. Travel & Accommodation
5.1. Travel expenses within the UK are included in the fee.
5.2. For weddings outside this radius, additional travel costs may apply and will be agreed upon at the time of booking.
5.3. If overnight accommodation is required due to distance or wedding timing, this must be covered by the Clients and agreed in advance.
6. Liability & Force Majeure
6.1. Lover of the Light Ceremonies is not liable for any issues arising due to circumstances beyond its control, including but not limited to: extreme weather, venue changes, illness, or acts of God.
6.2. The Clients are responsible for ensuring that the wedding location is suitable for the event.
6.3. Lover of The Light Ceremonies cannot be held responsible for disruptions caused by third parties, including venue staff or suppliers.
7. Marketing & Media Consent
7.1. By booking Lover of the Light Ceremonies, the Clients automatically give consent for photographs and videos of their wedding to be used for marketing and promotional purposes, including but not limited to social media, website, and printed materials.
7.2. If the Clients do not wish for their images or footage to be used, they must inform Lover of the Light Ceremonies in writing no later than 14 days before the wedding.
8. Contact & Communication
8.1. The Clients agree to communicate promptly regarding wedding details and revisions to ensure smooth planning.
8.2. The WhatsApp group set up for the Clients and Lover of The Light Ceremonies can be used at any time for sharing ideas and updates.
9. Agreement
By paying the deposit and confirming the booking, the Clients acknowledge and agree to these Terms & Conditions, including the marketing consent terms outlined in Section 7.
